Not all trips are created equal. Budget What does your budget look like? How much can you spend per night? Consider proximity to activities carefully. Aim to strike a balance between comfort and convenience. Some may be one-night stops, in which case you might want to consider if there are free or cheap places to park your rig and sleep for the night.

Caesar Creek State Park is highlighted by clear blue waters, scattered woodlands, meadows and steep ravines. The 3,acre park offers some of the finest outdoor recreation in southwest Ohio including boating, hiking, camping and fishing.

While it may be hard to believe, it’s difficult to get a reservation simply because the demand is extremely high. Reservation availability decreases rapidly once reservations become available because the website has a virtually unlimited capacity to accept reservation requests from the thousands of people submitting them. In contrast, when the system was run primarily by telephone, there were a limited number of phone lines available.

There have been very limited cases of people misusing the reservation system, and we’ve taken steps to eliminate this and actively continue to monitor and eliminate this misuse. However, even at its peak, misuse of the online reservation system accounted for a very small fraction of reservation transactions. The campsite I reserved says it accepts an RV or trailer length that’s shorter than the length of my RV or trailer.

Can I still use the campsite? In many cases, the maximum lengths for RVs and trailers are different because the campsites are not pull-through sites.

RV Hookups Explained: Water, Sewer, and Electric

Are you sure that you want to delete this answer? Yes Sorry, something has gone wrong. Typically, “Water and Electrical Hookups” are referring to convenient places an RV or trailer can plug in to for power and running water. Chances are, you should be able to plug an extension cord with a power strip for running some electrical items. I say plan your trip as if the electrical won’t be available, but bring a few things that will be helpful in case it is.

A few helpful camping tips:

Cowan Lake State Park offers a peaceful setting replete with scenic inlets laden with the American Lotus water lily. Swimming, fishing, sailing and canoeing are popular on the lake. Meandering trails through mature woodlands compliment the natural features of this scenic 1,acre park.

Are you sure you want to delete this answer? Yes Sorry, something has gone wrong. Pull through means you can drive straight through your site. The alternative is back-in. Pull-through is more convenient and easier for a novice but more expensive. Full hookups mean you have connections for electric, water and sewer. Sometimes it includes Cable TV, sometimes this is an additional fee. Water is a standard outdoor water faucet, just like you’d have on the outside of your house.

You will need a fresh water hose designed for RV use to avoid problems with bad taste or chemical leaching into the water. These hoses are usually white with a blue stripe, but make sure you get one specifically labeled for RV fresh water use. One thing you should ask about here is what the site’s water pressure is like. If it is much over 50psi it can damage your RV’s plumbing.

Some campgrounds have a lot of sediment in their water, so an in-line filter can be used. Sewer isn’t necessarily required if you are only staying for a few days, as you can dump your waste water at a dumping station when you leave.

Unmetered RV Hook-ups

People at campgrounds are some of the friendliest most helpful people you will ever meet. I have seen it time and again when a camper pulls in and they are having problems with something and their next door neighbor, whom they never met, is right there to assist them. I have also observed and assisted several campers who were new to RVing and not really sure how to set their unit up when they arrive at the campground.

While talking to these new Rvers it came up more than once how they wished that they had a checklist to follow to make things easier. I compiled over 25 checklists in an attempt to cover all aspects of RVing. This is an excerpt from the book to assist new campers when they arrive at the campground.

Water and Electric Campsite OK, so you love nature and enjoy roughing it, but your child can’t sleep without a nightlight and “someone” in your group just can’t survive for two days without a hair dryer.

As an avid camper, first growing up with my family and now with my own, nothing was worse than setting up camp and realizing you forgot a major toiletry item. It can really put a damper on your trip and your wallet. This is a list of the items that as a tent trailer owner I believe to the necessary when camping. Once your trailer is in position, chocking the tires is key to keeping it in place. The old school way of doing it was placing a rock or piece of wood in front and behind the tire.

Which I guess is fine if you want to lay awake at night wondering if the trailer is going to roll. A better way for wheel security is to use plastic wheel chocks. They are low in price and easy to store.

One user remarked about how the phrase must mean different things to different people. What is a “hook-up” to you? What does it mean to you when someone puts “no hook-ups” in a Tinder profile? Is there a difference between what you think it means on Tinder and what you think it’s supposed to mean in regular social context? A hook-up is a sexually physical encounter that doesn’t have strings attached the way a serious relationship does.

It usually connotes that there isn’t an established or recurring relationship, but can also describe friends-with-benefits.

We have approximately full hook-up campsites, dry sites, and three group areas, including an equestrian area. The lake itself is used as an agricultural water storage reservoir. It looks absolutely gorgeous on your website here, surrounded by mountains. And so, is it just group camping? No, we do both.

Your RV, Motorhome, or Camper Generator and How It Works. Updated on February 2, Don Bobbitt. more. What does that mean? Answer: SUZY – RV Resorts and Campgrounds will almost all provide power hookup for your RV. In fact with these campgrounds, they do not allow you to run a generator except under specific conditions.

The campsite is set out with pitches on top of each other and no vegetation to separate pitches. Everyone just walks across everyone else’s pitch! Some pitches near the hedgerow might be good for families or looking across the marshes and it is a good location to get to the beach but if you want any privacy and don’t want to feel like you are camping in a carpark, it would be better to find a smaller campsite else where along the Norfolk coastline. I’d expect electric hookup for that money but there was none.

Price aside we were left with a problem because signs at reception and indeed the lady booking me in said no burning wood. When your only non-electric cooking stove works by burning sticks and pine cones and you have a fridge full of meat to cook for your weekend’s meals what are you supposed to do? Since the campsite has no website where you could learn the site rules and I wasn’t told about the wood-burning policy when I phoned and booked, I didn’t feel guilty about burning sticks to cook two breakfasts and evening meals.

That they’d rather people used flimsy tinfoil disposable barbecues than a professional wood gas camping stove is just bizarre. So I’d have to sum up by saying the site is expensive and not prepared to let campers do the one thing you’d associate with camping – have a campfire.
